crib bumper... finally

Those of you who know me well, know that I can be somewhat fanatical about Baby Awesome and his safety.... so I made the crib skirt for his crib before he was born, but could not bring myself to put in a bumper with all the SIDS risks... so I just got around to making one, and I am pumped with the results! The blue fabric is Amy Butler fabric- you will find I am also slightly obsessed with Amy Butler fabric... I talk about Amy Butler and her fabric as if we are BFF... But I love the way the bumper turned out! It is so cheerful-looking to me- Baby Awesome must wake up every morning and say "Wow, what lovely fabric! Today is going to be a wonderful day!" Wouldn't it be positively delightful to wake up every morning with that attitude? Anyway, this is the effect it has on me. I walk past his sweet nursery, and my breath catches a little when I see his crib, see the beautiful cheerful colors, and know that my Baby Sweetness is sleeping blissfully, peacefully, and safely- snuggled up inside. Then my favorite thing is to walk in his room in the morning while he is chatting to himself- probably about all the fun he is going to have with Mommy and Daddy that day- and then he hears me walk in, and peaks his head up above the bumper and giggles when he sees me! No one tells you, pre-children, about the way your heart can swell so much at the sight of your Baby Awesome. It is bliss defined.

paintings for Baby Awesome

These are some paintings I did for Baby Awesome's nursery. I am not claiming any greatness or genius on them- because I totally copied them from Pottery Barn Kids. I just didn't want to pay $200 a pop, so I dug out my paints and bought some cheap canvases and ta-daaaa... I love them, though, and I think Baby Awesome likes them too- he likes to just gaze at all the bright colors. I love the sweet birdies too. Obviously, I can't make these specific ones to sell- since I totally copied these, but I can make custom paintings for your Baby Perfect's nursery- just let me know your ideas!

flannel and minky dot quilt

This is another quilt I made for my Baby Fabulous. Boys don't get all the fun of ribbons and pink and froo-frooness..... or I guess it is really their mommas that don't get to enjoy all that... but I love this bug print- very boyish, but not baby-ish. I combined the bug flannel with a soft green minky dot. It is one of our fav blankets- it isn't big and bulky, but very soft and cuddly. One of his favorite nap time blankies!

flannel and fluffy/minky quilt

Here is a recent quilt I made for my Baby Sweetness. It is a diamond-print-fluffy-minky fabric in ice blue with a soft flannel in an adorable elephant print. I found this new fluff-fully minky fabric the other day, experimented with it, and I L-O-V-E it. It is so soft and snuggly- perfect for my little Cuddle-bug!

quilt for Sweet Baby Tristan

This cotton and flannel quilt was created for Sweet Baby Tristan. This was a special gift requested by the father-to-be as a surprise for the mother-to-be. They were decorating the nursery in Mickey Mouse and Disney characters, and requested the quilt to match the nursery. Enjoy, Sweet Baby Tristan!

quilt for Sweet Baby Dulce

This is a cotton and flannel quilt that I made for a Surprise Me baby. The family was from the Dominican Republic and requested the Dominican flag and the Spanish word for "Baby" embroidered on the blanket. I took some artistic liberties with the flag.. but it is close enough! This is an example of how I can customize the embroidery and each quilt for each Baby Sweetness. Every Baby Perfect deserves something special just for them. Enjoy, Sweet Baby Dulce!

burp cloths for Sweet Baby Sydney

These are some burp cloths for Sweet Baby Sydney. One is a super soft flannel with a delicate froo-froo rose print- I love making froo-froo girly things- makes my heart flutter a little. The second burp cloth is a soft green minky dot, and the third is a cotton traditional rose print. My own Baby Awesome loves the minky burp cloths. He snuggles all up in them and loves to take snoozes with them rolled up and cuddled next to his face! They are super absorbent cloth diapers to catch any feeding aftermath, but soft enough for your Baby Sweetness' little baby skin. Enjoy, Sweet Baby Sydney!
